Halloween 1, 2 and 3 were awesome, but after that they get super boring. The Friday the 13th series have a lots of good ones like the first one, the Final Chapter and Part V. I guess I would have to say the Friday the 13th as a series, even though the first Halloween is far and away a superior movie to all the rest.
The worst Friday the 13th film (toss-up between Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X) is atleast entertaining to watch. Halloween 2 has some cool moments (the opening is great), but most of the time it's just slow and boring. Halloween 4 and H20 are essentially soap operas with poorly staged horror sequences.
Friday the 13th Part 2 is the most similar to its predecessor — for better and for worse. It introduces Jason as the killer and has plenty of fun with him, and has some good characters.
